| partners | | I had been to Tahquamenon Falls about five years ago but didn’t make it to the lower falls. The lower falls are not as high as the upper falls and more of a series of water cascades but still impressive. Our plan was to hike the 4 mile trail from the lower falls to the upper along the river. Time only permitted us to do 2 miles before heading back. This was a very scenic trail along the river during the peak color change. Even though the trail was easy walking it was slow going because of all the stopping to gawk at the scenery. The upper peninsula of Michigan is beautiful and this is just one of the many places to hike. During the winter it looks like there are many trails for snow mobiles. Other than the amount of people at the upper and lower falls you definitely feel out in the wilderness in the Upper Peninsula. |
