| partners | | | On the second day at the Great Sand Dune National Park we took the 4WD road along the east side of the park that leads up to Medano Pass in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. We went in a little way to where the sand got really deep and recommended deflating tires to 15 PSI, I didn’t want to do that so we stopped there. From the point of no Return on this 4WD road we took the Sand Ramp Trail to the Overlook Trail. The Sand Ramp Trail runs along the east and north side of the dune field. The overlook Trail ends on the edge of a ridge coming down from the Sangre De Cristo Mountains with great views over the dune field. This is an easy trail with great rewards. |
