| partners | | 15 days after a plantar fasciitis-related issue on my left foot with minimal standing for 8 days I only expected to hang with JJ and Nick for a quarter-mile. A recent hike on Piesetwa surfaced a staggering half I know with various stages of plantar over the years. Stories and advice aside, the massage gun was my ticket to hope.
Heading up the Super Trail, I led for 2.6 miles, then I was just in front... lol At the junction, I took Old Baldy and they continued on the 1.4-mi longer Super Trail.
Soon I passed two solo hikers heading up and then a couple heading down. They had a friendly local vibe so I asked if they knew Bill... indeed!
The top was refreshingly cool but I needed to keep moving being the weakest link by a landslide.
Spotted Towhees were chirping while jj was listening to international music heading down. I was holding the train up with six-minute longer miles vs average. Near the end, Nick said we were listening to an Elegant Trogon. It sounded like a standard barking goat-frog. It was great to see Nick and the scenery south of Tucson, mesquite BK street tacos rounded out a perfect day! |
