I was driving through this area and decided to hike up to the Juniper Ridge Fire LO, which I had not been to before.

I hiked on Juniper Ridge Trail #640, which is part of the White Mountains Trail System. The first part of the hike was on a forest road, and the last half mile or so was on a nice single track trail.

The person manning the fire tower was there, and he let me climb up to the lookout. I talked to him for a while and enjoyed the views up there. There were a few storm cells visible in the distance, so I cut my stay on the tower a bit short. I felt a rain drop or two on my way back to where I parked, but there was nothing worse than that.
