| no partners | | If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times: A day without hiking to Mount Ord is like a day without sunshine!
I had been wanting to hike to Ord to see if FR 27 had received any damage from this years monsoons, and the impact looks to be minimal. In particular, Jaws, i.e. the trench about halfway up FR 27, doesn't seem much different than it did a month ago. I did not have any issues climbing in and out of it today. Some sections of the road looked marginally worse, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought that it might be.
It was a good day for the hike, but it got a little warm the last couple of miles or so. There were some clouds north toward the Rim, but the skies over Mount Ord were cloudless when I finished the hike around noon.
Route quit recording again on the way back, but I changed a couple of phone settings when I got back home, which will hopefully fix the issue. |

Wildflowers Observation Light There was a good bit of field bindweed blooming along FR 27, but anything else was isolated. |
