Summit route was the fun usual scramble as it weaves through the cliff bands and the shade made things very pleasant. We hit the summit pretty early before anyone else so that was nice to have it to ourselves! After a short break we started back down the descent. Same fun rock scrambles on the way down and we passed three small groups heading up.
On the very last rock scramble down before it turns back into real trail I caught my shoe on the rock but my momentum kept going. I flipped over coming down and torquing/twisting my left knee which would find out later was an ACL tear. Couldn't put much weight on it and it would buckle with any lateral movement. John took my pack and found me two great walking sticks. Definitely would not have made it without those.
Slowly hiked out the 1.5 miles to the trailhead thanks to John's help. I'll be off the trail for a while but hopefully not too long! |
