But, the real reason I went back in there was to find an access point into the monument I had read about. One that is friendlier to drive than the other ones I knew of. This worked like a charm! About the time I got to the gate, a fellow on an ATV was coming out and he told me about some petroglyphs on a low hill, so I added that to my things to see for the day. Turns out I had driven right by the hill 9 days previous when I was out there. This is such a cool out of the way little mountain range that makes you work a bit for your special visit. 
The last time I was there the only folks I saw were the ATV riders. Same today. The group that passed me was headed to the petroglyphs too, so I visited with them there when I arrived a short time later.
