this hike has been on my list, and we had talked about it in the past
angela kindly agreed to do it on our second day of the trip
we started from mormon mountain trailhead around 0820
steady uphill through the forest until the grade moderates after a couple miles
views of mormon lake through the trees along the way
the trail end at a forest service road, which leads to the collection of cell towers near the summit
we took a snack break there, and i decided to find the actual summit
if not right on it, was within a few feet according to the track topo
retraced our steps
really enjoyed this one - a reasonable grade, shady pine and oak forest, and a nice high point
lunch at mormon lake lodge
stopped at stoneman lake overlook on the way home
