| no partners | | A quick sunrise hike to the first viewpoint. No clouds and a subtle sunrise, but you can't beat the views along this trail. I wanted to test my knee with a little steeper/rougher type hike than I have been doing. It did great going up, not so much going down. I opted to head back down rather than proceed to the next view area a mile south.
I came across a couple of other hikers, a couple at the first view point and another with their mountain doggo right at the trailhead on the way back.
It was pleasant at the pre-dawn start and a little warmer when I turned around. I could see the never ending stream of cars/truck (and boats and kayaks) heading towards the lake as I was heading back home. I'm glad I missed that circus for sure.
I don't think I will ever grow tired of hiking this trail, it's a true jewel in my favorite wilderness. |
