I tried a side road and explored the area to the west. There are several jeep roads and unmarked trails in the area. Some easy summits and lots of unburned desert. The hiking is easy and I didn't see any other hikers along the way. I'm sure there several mine prospects and such to look for. I saw one diamondback on the trail. The temperature was better than expected and with the clouds I could have hiked longer.
