An early morning stroll from Needle Vista around Hackberry Mesa to Garden valley and back Second Water trail. The trails west of First water aren't named and I took a side trail to a prospect hole that had the opening squared off with concrete. I scared up a critter that I first thought was a bobcat but the tail was wrong so it may have been a feral cat. I passed a few horseback riders and one hiker on second water trail. I saw a gila monster (surprise) about 100 feet off the sidewalk on the way back to Needle Vista. Some morning clouds kept the sun off and it was till nice out when I finished at about 7:45am.
