I decided to stay close to home and hike this morning. There were dark clouds and some lightning around when I got to the TH, so I waited a bit before starting. Radar showed that any rain would be moving south to north. By the time that I started I could see clear skies to the south, although there were still clouds over Thompson Peak. After about the 2 mile mark there were sunny skies over Thompson Peak, although there were still dark clouds over East End. It wasn't too much longer until I was in sunshine, and it remained that way for the rest of the hike. With the late start I did not finish until about 10:30, and it was 89 degrees by then. It still feels more like summer than fall.
