I decided to stay close to home and do this hike again today.

Everytime that I go to Bell Pass I look up at McDowell Peak and say to myself that "I need to hike up there one of these days". Well today was the day!

I followed the route that @trekkin_gecko posted, which seems to have become the de facto standard route for this hike. It was steep, especially the second part of the hike, but it wasn't too bad.

There are great views at the summit, so I hung out up there a bit.

It was a nice day to be hiking -- it was mostly cloudy with a bit of a breeze. It was really breezy at Bell Pass and at the summit. I put on a windbreaker at Bell Pass and kept it on until I got back down to Bell Pass.

There weren't many people out there today, which is about par for the course for a weekday.

Civilization is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there
