I had spotted a crested saguaro while descending the Red Mountain Rush trail a couple of weeks ago. Unlike most travelers on this trail, I was on foot and not rocketing down the hill on a bike. I set out this morning to find that saguaro and get a better look. I took well trod trails to the big wash nearest where I thought the cactus would be then trudged up through sand and gravel. Soon the sagiaro appeared on a hill above me. I picked my way up the slope and found my prize... An awesome crested saguaro.
