| no partners | | I had an open morning at work and decided to fit in a hike in between yesterday's rain and this evening's. Beautiful sunrise on the drive to the trailhead, but I'd missed the best of it by the time I got there. Got started ~6:30AM and didn't have much of a plan when I set out. But I had a few hours and decided to go up Guadalupe Ridge and down to Desert Classic/Corona de Loma...I don't get over that way too often.
Crossed paths with johnlp heading down to Desert Classic and chatted briefly as we passed. I took Old Man Trail back up to the ridge and past the Harvester benchmark, and I noticed johnlp down below on National, then we passed again as he headed up my way. I took National/Hidden Valley back to Pima Canyon TH to finish it off. Cool and mostly cloudy from start to finish, and one of the quietest days on the trails I can recall...over the first 3/4 of the hike, I saw no bikers and only 3-4 hikers, and two of those were LP. I'd hoped to get some views of snow on Four Peaks, but no luck with thick clouds in the east. |
