| partners | | Another AZT section. I didn't pay much attention to the AEG and thought it was more of a ridge hike. It started as a ridge hike and then it went down, down, down.
I started out following Andy and taking it easy. We missed turn near Bigelow Mountain and Chris took the lead going down. We paused at an up segment I took off to the turnaround point.
We stopped to eat near Crystal Springs and the clouds came with a breeze so it was cool for a while. I took the lead on the way back and the up section wasn't as bad as I thought. Once I reached the saddle I decided to hike up to the towers on Bigelow Mountain and add some more AEG.
After coming down from the summit I wasn't sure if I was still ahead or behind so I just continued on. There were several hikers/campers out on Incinerator Ridge. The final leg from parking area to parking area I still stayed on the trail. I passed the one turn but only for 100 yards.
I got back to the lot and waited a few minutes before Chris returned. The search for Andy commenced shortly after and we finally got to him off Incinerator Ridge road. One and done. |
