Started from butterfly TH at 11am. We got the last spot in the lot.

Beautiful views on the trail. Trail in very nice shape until about a mile and a half in. The trail is there, just very brushy with lots of encroaching vegetation. Lots of lush greenness.

No water at Novio Spring as it was marked on the map, but about 50 feet from where the spring was marked to originate, there was a small pool along with some gentle gurgling of running water in the wash.

We lunched on a log in dry wash. We didn't see a visible path to the plane wreckage.

We headed back the way we came. The weather was perfect.

We passed the Crystal Springs trail junction. We didn't check it out, but it looked slightly more brushy than the well-defined butterfly trail.

Would have liked to do this as a shuttle hike, but alas, no second car!

Quite a bit of wildflowers. Yellow daisies, white button daisies, dandelions, thistle, and many more!
