The vegetation provided some nice shade on the hike out. We started early with cool temps but it warmed up midday in the 80s so a little warm in the sun. As soon as the sun went down the air cooled and the overnight temps were in the 40s.
In the morning you couldn't wait for the sun to warm you up then an hour or two later you wanted it to go away. We moved covered some opening in the roof, put in/secured some hitching posts and cut/moved a few trees that had fallen over the trail in the SALT area. The nights didn't seem too long this trip with 1st light just after 5am and evening light until 7pm.
No meteor activity was observed but we did watch ten or satellites go by over about a 15 minute stretch one night. A few deer came near camp one afternoon but not much other fauna seen. A few scavengers were riding the currents on the hike out. No other hikers were seen over the 3 days.
Toney spring was at a trickle. The spring box was full of algae but the bees didn't seem to mind. We pull some of the green stuff out but it had little effect.
We hiked out early on Wednesday and avoided the warm up. The problem was the road to Superior was closed until 2pm so we had lunch in Globe at La Luz Del Dia. The portions we generous and service friendly.
With still another hour to wait, Jack & Anja went to Cal Ranch to see what camping gear they carried. I drove separately so I opted to drive back on SR 88. I was surprised to see the paved sections and the crews are still working on it.
It was a nice few days in the Supes.
