Return to a wonderful area I glimpsed almost 20 years ago now on a loop backpack; this was the final day. I love walking on large slickrock granite expanses with lakes and streams and this area has it. I tried to acclimate with the car camping ( separate triplog and photos for that) but I still was a little out of it day one. The main trail was pretty busy but solitude with the campsites was had. Weather was mostly good, one very stormy night - the lightning was stellar, the kind with your eyes closed you can see the outline of the bolt on the lid-- some rain, some overcast, some clear. The trip was just challenging enough to give me hope that I can still be in the game for some of the stuff I want to do.
Read some, wandered some, talked to some nice people, and saw some happy kids and dogs. Beautiful scenery of course, and so nice to get out of my backyard.
