It's great for me because i've never had anyone to go with, and my parents get upset when I tell them I hike by myself. The only places he's hiked are in the Mcdowells, so i decided to show him a real hike, in some real mountains. We decided to go on the Upper Bridge section because i had never done the hike before (done the lower one). I was hoping for running water, but wasn't expecting it. I was actually pretty surprised by the amount of running water, which went on and off in places. It's definetely a tough hike with all the boulder hopping involved, and these boulders are HUGE. I had seen pictures of the fold on one of the canyon walls and made sure we got up to there. I'm taking a geology class next semester, and after seeing this, i'm actually excited about the class (even though it's still school). This was an awesome hike, and i plan on going back when there's more water. |
