An awesome hike, but a long one. We were with an individual who was very slow. We did not get a chance to get to the base of the falls, but I will on my next chance.

A very easy hike around Riggs Flat Lake. It's a great little hike if you're in the area.

We hiked this for a second time, but this time we made our way down to Moonshine Falls for a close up. Nice!

A great hike if you are in the area. The trail sign is across the meadow. It took us a while to find it.

This is a great, short hike. We enjoyed the meadows, the many different colored mushrooms and the creek. The waterfalls were further away than we had hoped, but it was still a great hike.

A very short, but awesome hike. Definately worth the short drive from I17.

A short, but neat hike down into the canyon to explore ruins left by those long ago.

We did this in addition to visiting Sunset Crater. It is really neat to walk through these ruins trying to get a feel for how people lived back then. Make sure you stay for one of the Ranger presentations.

This is a great, short hike. Our group decided to go through the tunnel. Crawling over the rocks and through the water was a great time.

A must see for anyone in the South East corner of Arizona. The rock formations are really neat to experience.

The Rangers at the Visitor's Center run a shuttle to the upper trail heads every day at 8:30AM. We took the shuttle up to the Echo Canyon trail head. We hiked down the Echo Canyon, Hailstone, Mushroom Rock, Big Balanced Rock, Sarah Deming & Lower Rhyolite Trails. The Echo Canyon trail was our favorite, but they were all pretty neat.

Taking the shuttle allows you to start from the top and walk down making it much easier and faster to hike.

We plan to go again to hike some of the other trails we missed.

We hiked this on the same day as the Cave Trail. It is short, but steep. You get some really neat views of the valleys below as well as information about Coronado and his expedition. They have benches along the way to allow a nice and leisurely pace.

My kids thought that it was neat that they could see Mexico about a mile away.

It's hard to believe that Arizona weather can be so nice in December. Hiking up to the cave on the well maintained trail can be a little tiring from all the steps, but it is pretty easy if you pace yourself.

My kids loved exploring the cave. It is really dark once you get away from the entrance. The trail is about 600' in length and has some really neat crawl spaces.

Bring good flashlights and new batteries!

Great hike! It was an awesome learning experience along with some great views! How neat to be able to walk through 700 year old homes.
