| no partners | | This is the one I have been waiting all week for. It didn't disappoint either. I just wish this was closer to home. Wow what an amazing hike with so many trails and springs and then the elevation. I am at a loss. If this was near by it would be my new favorite playground. I took the Super Trail up to Josephines Saddle, then took the Old Baldy trail on up to the Baldy Saddle, then the Crest Trail to the Summit. Once at Josephine a huge wind and storm was headed my way and the few hikers on the trail told me to turn back. (Wasn't going to happen) Anyway I encountered Mother Nature making her statement and while it was a bit un-nerving it made it just that much more exciting. Once up top I signed into one of the two ammo boxes and took several photos. The sky got pitch black and it was time to get the heck out of Dodge. Down I went and as in the book (100 Hikes in Arizona) I took the Old Baldy trail all the way down. Fortunatly the storm just reared it's ugly head and kept going. Once back in Phoenix I found that it followed me home. Ha. |
