Turned out to be just about the perfect day for this hike. I had attempted to reach Wrightson 3 other times this year, all unsuccessful for various reasons. Since I had only done one hike (Blacketts) in the previous 5+ weeks, I knew I would have to take it easy on the pace (1.5 to 2 mph). Started out by heading up the Old Baldy to Josephine Saddle. The original plan was to do my usual: up and back via the Old Baldy. But a heavy overcast made me decide to go the rest of the way up via Super Trail, which normally I wouldn't do with the miles of sun exposure that way. But I also wanted to get a little extra distance in due my inactivity. Worked perfectly. The heavy cloud cover persisted for most of the day, and thunderstorms never developed. Back down via Old Baldy, then finished on the Super Trail below Josephine. Nice easy pace the whole day made it enjoyable. Not many people encountered on the hike. Lizards ruled the trail today!
