| partners | | I decided it was time for Lily to bag her first peak and we'd make it a good one. A friend of mine in Tucson wanted to do it, too, so I drove down Friday night to stay and then we hit Wrightson bright and early. 9L and I had also been talking about doing this for a while and he decided to drive down Saturday morning and catch up to us on the trail.
We started hiking at around 8:30. The temps were nice, cool, and windy and its as steady of a hike as I remembered. We had a good head start on 9L but he caught up to us on the switchbacks below Baldy saddle and then we all hiked together to the summit. We took the Super Trail down and the clouds parted a bit for a while letting it warm up a little but it was still nice. Lily did really well. The cooler temps were perfect for her-- she's still wimpy in the heat. This was her toughest hike so far and I'll probably tone it down for a bit-- I can't work her that hard every weekend yet. Hopefully, though, friendofthundergod might admit that Lily can do some "legit" hikes now  |
