| no partners | | I was so sleepy this morning, I almost turned my 5 am alarm off and went back to sleep. So glad that I didn't! The morning was overcast, but so very humid. I haven't been doing much hiking since the Catalinas have been closed, and I paid for it on my hike up. It was not a pretty sight- sweating buckets, huffing and puffing up the hill, cursing the loss of my cardio fitness. There wasn't any water flowing in the canyon, but the pools were still quite full. When I got to the pools, it was actually a little cold to go swimming, so instead I found a spot where I could take a nap.
I kept waiting for the sun to blast through and wake me up, but it never came. I ended up dozing on and off for an hour and a half! It was fantastic and I woke up refreshed and happy. I timed my hike out just right- I passed two loud college-age groups on their way into the pools and finally ran into Nick! It was only 85 degrees when I got back to my Jeep at 10:15 am. Awesome. |
