| partners | | | Did this passage as an overnight with Tom although it could be done as a day hike. We hadn't backpacked in almost a year and wanted to get back into it easily. We had lunch in Oracle and began the hike at about 1:30. We camped a little over half way through at the windmill. There was a picnic table, so we couldn't pass it up. Not much water in the metal tank; just some from recent rains, but we had carried all we needed. Javelina were messing around in the wash during the night and as usual I didn't sleep well. The temps were 26 when we turned in, but had warmed up to 35 in the morning. We reached Tom's truck at 9:30 in the morning and looked for a place for breakfast in Oracle and Oracle Jct but no luck. Some nice views with some snow from the winter storm the days before we hiked. |
