| partners | | | Last day at High Jinks Ranch started with the threat of rain but this never became an issue. Since we had stopped at High Jinks Ranch on the Oracle Ridge AZT a few days before we still had 1.6 miles down to American Flag TH to finish the section. So we started from the ranch and followed the trail down to American Flag TH and then crossed the road that goes up the backside of Mount Lemmon. The next 6 miles is rolling hills as the landscape drops into the desert and makes it's way through Oracle State Park. We had an early lunch break just before crossing highway 77. From there it's 1.5 miles on the Tiger Mine Road...fortunately this is short since it's a major road. Eventually we reached the TH on Tiger Mine Road and were thankfully back on trail for the last 4.5 miles down to Tucson Wash. The last section is good trail through rolling hills as it moves away from the Catalinas. Thanks to our shuttle help for dropping our vehicle at Tucson Wash and great long weekend at High Jinks Ranch with Shawn, Tracey, Angela, and Ambika. |
