Decided yesterday that I would go for a hike with a good friend. We left Phoenix just before 10am and got on the trail about 11. There were lots of people on this popular route, but I really wanted to see Weavers Needle and eventually someday I would maybe like to climb this. The view from Fremont Saddle is supper beautiful and inspiring. From the saddle we veered right to another trail that lead us to an even more spectacular view of Weavers Needle that was just under the shade of a lone tree. We signed the trip log and decided to take a loop back on a different trail. From there we merged with the Bluff Springs Trail. This trail was more challenging, and the trail not nearly as developed. Lots of rock to scramble on and route finding for the proper trail. We came across a small area on the side mountain face where people had left dozens upon dozens of tiny cairns. D an I made our small contribution and continued to route find out way back to the parking lot. Back to the car at 3pm.
