| no partners | | | I had the morning open so a quick hike in the Supes was in order. I started about 5:30a (late) and there were two other cars at First Water TH. It was nice out and I hiked clockwise up Second Water trail toward Boulder Canyon. I saw an old rusty bucket next to the trail and wondered where that came from? I entered Garden Valley about 6:00a was has still hiking in the mountain shadows wondering how long this would last. I picked up an empty powerade bottle near Second Water Canyon that may have fallen out of someone's pack. The hike up Boulder Canyon was good as I found a head, almost stepped on a sleeping snake, found lots of water and actually stayed on trail for the most part. The shadows lasted most of the way to the Dutchman trail so I still had 3 quarts of water left with only 4 miles to go. The finish on the Dutchman trail was easy and I was back just after 9:00a with almost 2 quarts of water left. |
