Brian and I wanted to do something today, but needed it to be quick, light and fairly easy, as we were slated to do Brown's Peak the next day. Brian had never been hiking in the SPRCA, so I put a Route together that I wanted to try that would also fit the bill. It would show Brian some of the Jewel of the Creek area, plus throw in some Petroglyphs and great views. Brian also had to work later that day, so we had a time limit.

Got started a little late, but still felt like we had time to complete the Loop. Started out on Dragonfly, but I hadn't quite done it this way before and got turned around a little. We ended up doing the Loop clockwise instead of counterclockwise like I had planned, but it was still good.

Showed Brian a mine, and we saved the exploration within for another time. Cave Creek was flowing where we crossed it initially, but was not flowing like it was down the Trail like I have seen in the past. Hiked up out of the Creek area and enjoyed the scenery around us, including the Cholla blooms that were really starting to pop. Made good time up and around the Loop and I got to see an area that I had not seen before. It was pretty cool and would be awesome with some Water flow. Kept up a good pace and finished in good time.

Good scenic leg stretcher and nice way to warm up for the hike the next day. Will return and try this Loop slightly differently next time. I love this area. Thanks for joining me, Brian. :)
