I love this drive, enjoying the Juniper filled Countryside... This is the Route I always take to go to Kingman and Las Vegas. It's a bit longer, but the Scenery is soooo much better, and you have the advantage of the higher Speed Limit on the Interstates....
We hung a left on 89A and drove through the outskirts of Prescott Valley, hoping to see some nice Wildflower laden fields in the Pronghorn Antelopes' Playground. Only found one patch, but it was pretty good, with the exception of a not so great background. Stopped and took a few pictures, watching Joe climb around on a Corral made with used Power Poles....
Drove up the Mountain and took a small detour looking for a Hang Glider/Girl Scout Launch Ramp...Never did find it, but got to tour the beautiful area around Mingus Lake....
Stopped at the Main Highway Overlook, displaying the distant views of Sedona, took a few more pictures and then got some Lunch/Dinner at the Haunted Hamburger. Great meal to end an awesome day, full of Scenic Vistas, Autumn Colors and uncontrollable laughter.
Thanks for a great day, Joe! |
