| no partners | | Got a Text from JJ right after I finished up the Pigeon Spring Loop. Due to Trail conditions, he was going to be 45 minutes later than anticipated.... Jumped in the Jeep and hauled pumpkin down to Roosevelt Lake. I knew that I still had some time to get a line wet if I hurried. Still found the time to stop on the way for a few more pics though....
I parked at the pullout at the end of the AZT, rigged the Rods and headed down. There was no way I could get down from where I parked, it was way too steep. I ended up walking about an 1/8 of a mile back to the North and catching an old abandoned Road that ran down to within a couple of hundred feet of the Shoreline by the Bridge. Fished a little Cove area that had some Structure, by the Bridge. I only got one bite and I missed the bugger!!! Probably wrong type of area at the wrong time of day. I had a very good view of my old Honey Hole across the Lake and it brought back alot of fun memories. That is one sweet spot over there and I have caught many a Fish in that area.
JJ texted again to confirm his ETA, and in the end, he beat me back to the Jeep. I had a hard time shaking the "one more cast" mentality. I got the Kitchen Sink loaded back in the Jeep and we took off for the Valley. We decided to go via Globe, and JJ treated me to Mexican at El Rey. Thanks John! It was a very good day, regardless of the fact that I got skunked at the Lake!!! That's Fishing!!! |
