The "grassy" flat area only showed a stubble when the sun came up later. We followed the directions from HAZ, but when we crossed the last wash where "the arch is right in front of you", we saw nothing. We spent 20 minutes or more combing the ridge where we thought it should be, and found a few "arches", but they were pretty lame. We didn't want to miss the Vulture Peak hike, so we called it. The geology of the area was cool, with many pockets and some nice formations, but I don't think it will draw me back. |
