I arrived at the Peralta lot to find that my car was the only one there. Of course it was 6:00am on a Wednesday, which might have had something to do with it. Also accounts for the 47 degree temperature. My plan had been to do the Bluff Springs trail, but with the Peralta so empty I figured I'd hit the Peralta Trail. I haven't hiked up this portion of the trail in many years, just toooo many people on it. A few hikes have forced me to return on the Peralta.

At Fremont Saddle I decided to return using the Cave trail. About 3 years ago I came up the Cave trail, but it had been about 10 years since I had gone down this trail. Seems that I had more problems than I remember keeping track of the non-existant trail.

Back at the parking lot it hit me that I had just done the Peralta Trail and Cave Trail without seeing another person, wow. It was too early to quit hiking so I did a couple miles on the Dutchman's Trail.

What's with all the cairns in the cave? There must be a dozen normal sized cairns and another 30 miniature cairns on the ledge.
