| partners | | Kids with babysitter - had date hike then dinner at El Encanto. Poppies were out in large sections all along Overton mostly. Few spots on Go John. Brittle bush will be explosively yellow in a week or so. You can see the buds coming up but none are open yet.
The Visitor Center is new since we were here last - very nice displays. Bathrooms, water, coffee, snacks, pretty amphitheatre. There's an Eagle Scout project in the back by the nature trail that has a little home for a desert tortoise. We could see him tucked into his bunker.
Saw two mule deer on the nature trail. Not many people using these very nice trails and all the amenities nearby. I forgot there are playgrounds by the picnic tables too. Did see two large groups on horse back tours. |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate Mostly poppies, some lupine. No brittle bush yet - but likely in a week as buds have sprouted up. |
