| no partners | | First camping trip of the season into the White Mountains (Nutrioso). Specifically, hiked the Auger Canyon area. Started at our property and hiked to the falls that I've named Auger Falls. The falls are about 12 feet high and cascade down to a 15 foot wide by 20 foot long pool. Water flow is rarely very high, just your typical 2' wide by 2-3" deep mountain stream. This is an easy hike that follows along game trails and an old jeep road. I think its about time I document this hike with a description. I need to take the time to hike the full length of this creek up to its source, then post a full description. There may be more noteworthy falls further up the mountain.
2013-08-24 Update: Investigated further upstream. No other significant falls to note. Creek thins out and goes underground in some areas then resurfaces. |
