The trip is a moderate 7.2 miles each way with 2,455' of elevation gain - up going in, down coming out. We headed in using the Roger's Trough Trailhead in the Eastern Superstitions. High clearance vehicles are required.
Headed in on Saturday morning and initially dropped into scenic Rogers Canyon before starting a steady ascent up to Reavis Saddle. Now up in the juniper and pines, the gentle trail soon reaches a perennial stream and the beautiful Reavis Ranch valley.
During the hike, the ecosystems change from desert to pines which is very cool! After setting up camp, we explored the old ranch, visited the apple orchard, and enjoyed an evening campfire. We followed the same route out on Sunday.
