Hard to believe a year has gone by since the last Hippyfest! This was one hell of an event with a solid HAZ turnout. It was great seeing old friends and meeting some new faces. We had a diverse and fun group!

To sum up the trip, a group of five of us hiked in from the south. We arrived at the ranch and claimed the same site as last year. From there we gathered firewood and set in for the evening. The next day a small group of us made the hike to Circlestone and then on to Mound Mountain. That summit is a challenge as you fight through a field of Manzanita. I'll have nightmares for a while! After we got back to the Fireline trail Hippy convinced me it would be a great idea to head cross country back to Reavis. I reluctantly agreed. This off trail section was fun mixed in with more Manzanita hell but wasn't too bad. We arrived with bloody legs and hands right at our camp about an hour later. We woke on Sunday and made the hike out and back to the city.
