| no partners | | Someday I hope to complete the entire Sierra Estrella Ridgeline. Todays hike was from the Estrella Mountain Regional Park up the Ridgeline with the hopes of making it to the reservation boundary line. I didn't get started until 10am and the hike is a slow one on the ridge so I didn't make it to the finish line. I fell short by a little over a mile and a half.
Unlike the Isis hike my desire to reach the goal was outweighed by the wise choice to turn back with safety in mind. Hiking this ridgeline in the dark would surely be trouble.
The Sierra Estrella Ridgeline is a different animal all together. Hiking it is a rugged arduous journey yet somehow it has an exhilarating effect. As I hiked it today it shredded my legs and the cactus poked at me constantly.
In the end it put a smile on my face and somehow lifted my soul. |
