| no partners | | | Trying to stay tuned after a low-elevation day yesterday in the White Tanks. Was encouraged to see only four cars parked at the end of Squaw Peak Drive. Began there, and going clockwise, traversed the Ruth Hamilton trail to the 8A and down its long winding path south to the 202, then west to the first saddle. There, I went uphill to the north, crossed over the high peak on the west, then down to Squaw Peak Drive again via the Mohave Trail saddle. The 8A very busy as usual. Dirty air ruined the views. Could barely see South Mountain. Walking up the pavement to my car shot a photo of an unusual wavy cloud pattern which was featured on the Ch. 12 weather. Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds apparently signify unstable air. Otherwise nothing special about this hike. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated
Ocotillo, brittlebush and creosote in full bloom, but saw virtually no wild flowers. |
