Not your traditional Rim 2 Rim in a single day but loved this trip with my wife. Day 1 (October 6) - took the shuttle from the South Rim to the North Rim and camped there. Day 2 - backpacked to Cottonwood CG. Day 3 - backpacked to Bright Angel CG (Phantom Ranch). Day 4 - backpacked to Indian Garden CG. Day 5 - out. Also enjoyed some nice side hikes like Plateau Point. Had to treat our water from the first tunnel on the North Kiabab to Phantom Ranch. Enjoyed 4 cups of lemon-aide there at the PR Cantina. The scenery was incredible.
