| no partners | | I wanted to get back to Sheep Mountain Spring and see if there was anything of interest there. This area is difficult to get to and I've been close a few times but turned back due to lack of time etc. I finally made it there and crawled through the growth where the spring is supposed to be and found nothing. No water, no trough, no cairns, no cans, no kidding. There was a story about a miner who was located in the area and I usually find rusty cans almost everywhere but none today. The goods news was I hiked in and out without seeing another person. If you want solitude then this is the place. If you want water then don't bother. The section of Peters Trail from Tortilla trailhead to Kane Spring was in excellent shape. Someone trimmed all the growth back a day or two ago. The section past Kane Spring to where I went up on Peters Mesa was also trimmed. The trail is narrow as usual here but still easy to hike. |
