Back in October, 2014, I hiked the first 11 miles of this Segment, but ran out of time (and energy!), and had to bail.

I finally got around to finishing it up. My son and his girlfriend offered to hike with me.

During all my hikes, I've been plagued with sweaty feet, which causes blisters. I've finally come up with a solution - anti-perspirant! I slather my feet with the stuff, and voila! No problems! I hiked the entire 8 miles this day without changing socks, and didn't have a single blister. Not even any sore spots! Whoo Hoo!

My wife and daughter were the trail angels of the day, getting us to the BSA Camp Geronimo trailhead shortly before 6:00am. We hadn't been out of the car but a minute or two, when we heard reveille sounding at Camp Geronimo. That brought back memories of the week I spent there with my oldest son, 20+ years ago!

We hit the trail shortly before 6:30. It was a cloudy day, which made the hiking nice. Once, we got "spit" on for about 5 minutes. Combined with the wind, it was almost chilly. A time or two, I thought about throwing my long sleeved t-shirt back on. Thankfully, I never had to.

This is a really nice trail. We never had any problem with route-finding. The Highline Trail is marked with white diamonds, and combined with the GPS track I had, made route-finding easy.

About mid-morning, we were passed by a young man heading west who had had started at the Three Sixty Trailhead on Saturday. We were impressed.

Shortly before the end, the trail splits. As far as I can tell, both trails lead to the Pine Trailhead.

We finished a little after 11:00. A nice day hiking, followed by a lunch at Jack in the Box in Payson, and home to Mesa. A great way to spend Memorial Day!

Another great day on the Trail! Thanks to my wife, son, daughter, and maybe future daughter-in-law!
