| no partners | | The original plan for today was Picketpost. Then, I had suggested to Celina, since she's done Picketpost, we could do something new for her, and Peralta/Cave trail was Plan B. When I looked at the radar maps this morning, I decided that I didn't want to do either of those options in the rain, and came up with Plan C.
We got to a mostly empty Tom's Thumb trailhead a little after 8:30, and the weather was gorgeous! Cool and breezy, with dark clouds to the east, but they were never a problem. It was actually quite breezy at Tom's Thumb, and I was almost cold. On the way back down, we decided to make a quick side trip up to East End Peak. We spent a few minutes up there, then started talking about food (one of our favorite topics), got hungry, and headed back down to the car. It was mostly sunny by the time we finished at 11:30. Saw six mule deer while we were driving out the gate, but I wasn't able to get pics since I was driving. |
