Always a pleasure to make a trip out to the Spur Cross area. for one thing early in the morning its a lovely drive up Cave Creek Rd to Cave Creek and then on Spur Cross Road winding though the neighborhood. Once I got there parked, paid my fee and grabbed a map I decided to do the Spur Cross Metate Trail loop. It was a beautiful morning though it did warm up soon. I enjoyed all of the views that the trail provided. The various, many armed towering cactus made for a lot of photo ops stops I had the Metate Trail to my self as I journeyed in a counter clockwise direction. I encountered more hikers and bikers once I got back on the Spur Cross Trail.
