So I walked in while he went to park somewhere up 89A. We finally got underway at about 11. It was a beautiful day with some wind that caused the leaves to come floating down. It was mostly green with some yellow present then finally there! Through the trees some reds came in to sight. Overall the color was a good display, not the best that I have seen but still worthwhile. As the sun got higher and shone through the leaves above the trail it reminded me of the sun shining through the stained glass windows of a gothic cathedral. I am not a good judge of this but it seems to me that the colors have just peaked or will shortly. I wound up going to just past the 4th creek crossing then headed back. It was great to once again hike this beautiful trail. |
