| no partners | | | I headed to the trailhead of off the Carefree highway this morning looking to hike the Octotillo Trail for a bit. I arrived a little before 7:30. It was pleasantly cool with a mostly clear sky. I got underway soon noticing the hot air balloons hovering in the sky. The trail presented little difficulty as it wound around the side of a hill There were views to the north then east along the highway then south across Sonoran Desert Drive. very little up and down then as it came around the hill it began a gentle descent to the desert floor. I turned around when I reached the mileage post with a distance of 1.27 miles. The ballons were present all morning and the trail was busy with hikers and bike riders. As I was driving home I detoured up 27th Dr. just to see what I could see. I was thrilled to see a Harris Hawk perched on a light post. So I stopped and got a few pictures. |
