| no partners | | | Made my first visit to the Desert Vista Trailhead early this morning getting there about 6:15am. A few cars present with a few hikers heading out. After consulting the trail map I decided that I would do an out and back along the Desert Tortoise trail. I headed out about 6:30 with still dusk a little. Had the trail to myself going out. I enjoyed the curvy nature of the trail as it gave you different views along the way. A little bit of up and down but nothing too taxing. Lots of cholla cactus and some stately saguaros about. My turnaround point was a mile in on the trail. There were some nice views to the east there. As I headed back the sun was up but it was not overly warm yet. There were now more hikers and bike riders out. Got back about 8:15. It was a very enjoyable hike and I will definite repeat the trip sometime. |
