IMO, this loop is best after a decent soaking, creating a nice stream flow with little waterfalls throughout Barks Canyon and along Bluff Spring area. The desert is loving the recent rain. Saguaros look fat, ocotillos are leafing out, and there's green everywhere. Low hanging clouds kept most of the upper elevations shrouded until the very late afternoon when things began to clear. Met three or four groups of hikers even though the Peralta TH looked like a Walmart parking lot on payday. Fremont Saddle must have been shoulder to shoulder.
