| no partners | | | If doing this hike once wasn't enough, I had to do it again (Actually this is the third time I did it back in 1970). This time I wanted to hike to Pima Saddle to meet up where I had hiked before from Pima Canyon. The trail up Finger rock is pretty much as I described before. Pima Canyon Trail is spectacular from start to finish but the upper reaches of the trail are magnificent for the views. The trail is really steep below Pima Saddle, in fact I would say it isn't a trail as you approach the Saddle from below, more like a route down a very steep creek. The section above the saddle is in good condition though and the views are spectacular. DO NOT ADMIRE THE VIEWS AS YOU WALK! This is a great trail when you want a good work out. If you have a shuttle vehicle you can do a through hike to Pima Canyon Trail head. |
